It is on its way….OrangeCap app launch soon… an iPhone and Android app so your team member can record videos of themselves better on their own phones, and seamlessly transfer the footage to the editor (us!)… a great tool for the internal comms department…watch this space!!!

What is the app for:

It’s a tool to help internal comms teams generate better video content for internal use – easier, better quality and cheaper.
Rather than sending an expensive cameraman, employees film themselves on their own phones/ ipads – but with a bit of instruction –  the app teaches them best practice and tips for recording themselves, plus sorts out uploading their footage directly to the editor.

Reason behind app:

Having produced 100’s of corporate video over the last 15 years, there is a noticeable trend towards using interview footage filmed on iphones and ipads for internal comms videos – BUT – the footage is typically badly framed, has poor sound and bad lighting…but great content! Great content badly recorded is painful to watch!

The app aims to solve 3 issues:

1. It helps people film themselves to a higher standard, by following a quick video tutorial.
2. It informs employees what content is required (points to cover, how long answers should be)
3. It makes sending large files directly to the editor simple.

User journey:

1. The employee logs in (create log in and password)
2. They watch a 3-4 minute video tutorial (how to plug in the mic, where to sit, where to look etc)
5. They read their brief, what they are required to produce)
4. They film themselves in the native camera app on their phone/ ipad
5. They use the app to submit their content

The video editing process is no different to a normal corporate shoot and edit – internal comms liaises with the editor to produce the final video.

Price:

Per project basis, typically 1 charge based on half a cameraman’s day rate (so about £300 per project)
